NOTE: The impetus for the 4 Vision Fugitives was the arrival of a grand piano in my household. Initially, I wanted to compose a short work in a jazz-influenced style while being easy enough for myself to perform. However, after I struck on the idea that the right hand would always play white keys and the left hand black keys, more pieces were born. While Vision Fugitives 1 & 3 are ‘jazzy’ in style, 2 & 4 occupy a more abstract soundworld.

The 3 Bagatelles are ‘offshoots’ from the Vision Fugitives. Somewhat ‘lighter’ in intent, the Bagatelles use alternation between white and black keys between the hands. They were written as a birthday present for my partner at the time.

Movements may be performed seperately. Alternatively, a selection may be performed.
