'Turning' refers to a gradual change of emotional states and to the ‘turning’ of musical materials. The soundworld is ethereal and delicate. Turning was written in memory of Linton Kerber. The pitch translation of ‘Linton Kerber’ is found in the left hand of the opening phrase of the piano
